This is another cruise album layout for my mom. This is my mom with her best friend (my "aunt"). They took photos that mirrored each other so I decided to make the layouts somewhat mirror each other also. The papers are misc., My Mind's Eye, and some are from the DCWV stack 6. The flowers are from silk arrangement flowers that I took apart and I added a brad to the middle of each. Then, I embellished the brads with Stickles glitter glue.

The butterflies are from the SU Dreams du Jour stamp set. I made the scalloped egde on the Tangerine Tango cardstock using the SU scallop edge punch (I hear SU is coming out with a different scallop edge punch with holes in it for brads or eyelet in this new catalog!!! YAY!!). The title was made using the Cricut Pooh Font cartridge.

As a final touch, I added this homemade epoxy accents! To make these, I stamped the image, punched it out with a circle punch & used SU's scallop circle punch on another cardstock. Then I covered the entire thing with versamark and clear embossing powder. I used three layers (versamark and clear embossing powder and heated, repeated 3 times) in order to get a smooth surface over the top of the embellishment. (My clear embossing powder actually has fine glitter mixed in with it so these have a bit of shimmer too, they accidentally got mixed but it gives a great effect!).

This DSP is just perfect for the layout! I love your homemade embellies as well! Very creative and love the sparkle!
ReplyDeleteLove those pictures. Wow that sky! Great sparkles.
ReplyDeleteThis layout is super cute! Love glitz you added, too! :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love these layouts! Great paper and great pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh how cute! I LOVE the sunny colors!!
ReplyDeleteI came across your blog and fell in love with this little epoxy accent! I'm some what "new" to these techniques so I was just wondering if it became shiny because you put on numerous layers of embossing powder, or was it the brand of embossing powder that makes it shiny?
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Allison
PS, do you still have any of the new stampin' up! catalogs left? I'm pretty new to stamping as well and was looking into investing in some nice stamps to get me started, please let me know, thanks so much!
Great page! Love the dazzle, layout and colors!
ReplyDeleteI love making my own glossy embellies!!! Adds so much dimension! Super cute layouts!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking the time to do the upclose picture and the explaination of the heat embossing. I have never been able to get this technique right!
