Find out about the April Blog Candy Giveaway by clicking here! Scroll down for recent posts!!

**BLOG CANDY NOW CLOSED. Check back in a couple of days to see the winner!!

Daquiri LO

I made this LO using the April Kit at Vintage Plum. This patterned paper was on the back of an orange patterned paper that I used for my Happy Pumpkins LO earlier this month.
This is an ABOUT ME LO. I just love strawberry daquiris, but without the alcohol. We make them at home with the Bacardi mix and I just add ice and water rather than the Bacardi. I thought they looked so pretty one day, I just snapped a photo.

This is just a super simple LO because I wanted the pink patterned paper to be the main focus.

Use it Tuesday #5

Somehow I forgot to schedule my post and this appeared on my blog last week. If you saw it last week, just pretend like it is new LOL :O)

Every Tuesday, I am digging into my stash and using something I have been hoarding. I have a room full of stuff and I am going to try to USE IT!! I hope you will join me and start using your own stuff more.

For this week's challenge, I used my Stampin' UP A Rose is A Rose stamp set and a paper pack called Tiffany's from We R Memory Keepers. These have both been in my stash for quite a long time so it was definitely time to USE IT!

Here is my "It's a Girl" LO:

These are the first photos I took of Emma when she came home.
The title is glitter Thickers. The journaling square came from my March Vintage Plum kit.

The roses and leaves are from the A Rose is a Rose stamp set. They are stamped in two colors of ink using the Stamp a ma jig (LOVE that thing!!)

1 stamp set, 2 looks!

For the following two cards, I busted out my new set called Quinceanera. This set is from the Spanish Stampin' UP catalog and I just loved this trendy looking diva so I got this stamp set as one of my free sets I earned recently.

I thought of course she could be a trendy bride and not just a teen gal so I made two different cards. They are very similar but the sentiment is what makes them totally different.
The first card is actually for a Quinceanera card. The girl, flower and sentiment are from the Quinceanera stamp set. Then I used a circle punch and the Scallop Circle Punch to go with the sentiment and then the Ticket Corner Punch was used on the corners of the Whisper White cardstock.
For this card, I used this sentiment from K and Company. The corners were punched with the Photo Corner Punch that SU makes.

Both girls were colored with Stickles glitter glue and SU Markers.

Trying something new here

Hello everyone,

I am going to be trying something new for the next couple of days. If I use a SU product, I am going to try to link it to a product description page here on my blog. The product descriptions are going to be pre-dated so that they won't show up on my main page. It may not make sense so just bear with me for a couple of days.

Linked items will be in bold font, click those products to see what I am taking about! :O)

Sketch Challenge #15

Here is sketch challenge #15! Have fun!

Crack Dip Recipe LO

My friend Stephanie came to my house and showed me her awesome recipe swap cards a while back and I just loved the idea of a 6X6 recipe book (that is the size her swap was). The cards were just so cute and I have been meaning to start mine for a long time now. Well, I finally did!

This recipe is called "Crack" Dip. It is a twist on a cheese and bean dip and it is simply to die for good. All my family and friends just adore this dip. It is so good and addictive, like crack, hence the name!! LOL. Traditionally sausage is put into the recipe, but we do not eat pork ( for health reasons, migraines and nitrates don't mix).

The recipe is written out at the end of this post in case you want to find yourself addicted to crack dip!!

The LO was made using my cute Stampin' UP Viola and Voila To Go stamp sets. OMGosh I just love these stamp sets!! I have loved them from the day that I saw them. The dip cup is actually supposed to be a coffee mug, but I just left off the handle when I was using a Stampin' UP Marker on the stamp. I colored the images with an aqua painter and ink.

The cardstock is creamy caramel, baja breeze, and the patterned paper is from the Good Morning Sunshine pack. I used the SU Scallop egde punch on the patterned paper. The creamy caramel was embossed with a Sizzix Texturez plate. The alphas are Glitter Thickers and misc. sticker alphas.

And now for the recipe:

CRACK DIP RECIPE

Ingredients:
1 can black beans
1 can Rotel tomatoes
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
2 tbsp cumin
pinch of garlic
pinch of chili powder
8oz sour cream
8oz cream cheese

1. Combine all ingredients in a sauce pan and mix well.
2. Heat over medium heat until the cream cheese melts.
3. Let simmer 5-10 minutes until ingredients are well combined.
**If adding ground sausage, cook the sausage before combining all the ingredients.

Enjoy!!!

Here is a mini book I started last night:
This book is made with file folders cut in half. My mom brought home these pretty natural file folders from work and I took them! LOL (really I asked her first). They are beautifully textured and have leaves pressed into them. I bound them with my bind it all. I sprayed the paper with glimmer mist.

The alphas were cut with the Cricut Lyrical Letters cartridge. I love the fonts on here!! I outlined the big letters with glitter stickles and the little letters with a Stampin' UP marker. The "Dogs" is cut out of some Basic Grey paper. I stamped a stamp from Stampin' UP's boho backgrounds stamp set. The grass at the bottom was stamped with the SU Pocket Silhouettes. The puppy is from the Cricut Paper Pups cartridge. I put a little rhinestone for it's little eye.
