Crop LO

Here is a LO I made for this week's Practical Scrappers challenge. The challenge was to use a transparency.
I used transparency for my letters. I cut them out with the Big Shot and then stamped on them with Stazon and the script stamp from the Stampin' UP Rustic Rooster stamp set.

The edging under the photo is also a transparency.

The circle shapes are stamped from the Stampin' UP True Friend stamp set.

Hey yall! I have another project to squeeze in today. This is my project for the new challenge over at Just Buggin'. Be sure to head over there and check it out!

  • Alphabets are cut from Stampin' UP Regal Rose cardstock using the Cricut Hello Kitty Font cartridge. After cutting them, I used Distressed Stickles to make them sparkle.
  • The CUTE little penguins are stamps from the Stampin' UP Cold & Cuddly stamp set that is out in the new Holiday Mini catalog. I stamped them on Stampin' UP Very Vanilla cardstock (one penguin is Melon Mambo ink and one is Rich Razzleberry ink) and positioned them so they were "holding hands" by using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. Then I cut them out carefully using an Xacto knife and a cutting mat.
  • The background cardstock is Stampin' UP Rich Razzleberry.
  • The patterned paper is Basic Grey Lemonade

Happy Wednesday Everyone!

I have a cute little Cricut project to share with you today. This is one of my FAVORITE layouts because, it has the cutest little chef on it :O)

This is a very simple layout, but I just really like it for some reason. It works for me. I hope you like it!

  • The Cricut die cut is actually the giant fork! LOL Don't ya just love it?? This die cut is actually from the Cricut Disney Dreams Come True cartridge! Unexpected huh! I cut it out of Stampin' UP Baja Breeze cardstock (retired Stampin' UP In Color 08-09).
  • The chef is from the Stampin' UP Voila stamp set. This is such a cute stamp set. I colored him in with a homemade In Color marker in Baja Breeze and regular Stampin' UP markers.

Happy Tuesday, ya'll!!
Every Tuesday, I am digging into my stash and using something I have been hoarding. I have a room full of stuff and I am going to try to USE IT!! I hope you will join me and start using your own stuff more. Go Use it!!

Today, I used a couple of items I have been hoarding - Technique Tuesday alphabet stamps, a monthly kit, and my Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. And this is the layout that came out:
These are some photos of Johnny and me playing in shaving cream while we were making some Shaving Cream Background items. It was a blast!!!

I also made this layout with the Just Buggin' Challenge #4 in mind, which is to use the blackout feature on your project. I used the blackout feature TWO TIMES on this layout. One for the scalloped circle (from the Cricut Accent Essentials cartridge). The paisley shape is from the Cricut Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. I layered the shape with the blackout shape and then covered it with Stickles.

Big News Small Prices!!!!

I have been dieing to tell you about this!!!!! Stampin' UP is offering a CLEARANCE RACK in my online Stampin' UP store!!!! YES!!!!
Yes you are reading correctly. That sign says UP TO 80% OFF!! These items are retired items even!!! The demonstrators got to order supplies first during a special demonstrator only sale and I PROMISE you, there were bunches of other supplies, but they SOLD OUT. Believe me when I tell you they are not joking: Order today while supplies last!! When the word gets out, these items will be gone forever.

These items can only be ordered online so you can order through my Stampin' UP website by clicking on my button below:

I don't know about the release dates, but when I do, I will update this page :O) These are full sized cartridges so they have the full set of features.

Snow Buddy Color Combo #17

Happy Monday everyone! Today brings another color combo :O) We are already on combo #17, can you believe it!!??

Play along here: http://spcolorcombos.blogspot.com/2009/09/spcc-17.html

And here is the card I made for the challenge:
I did not have this ready ahead of time so I had to bust my booty today to work on it :O) I hope you like it! I was impressed with how it came out, actually.

  • All cardstock is from Stampin' UP: Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Very Vanilla, Whisper White
  • Ribbon is from the new Holiday Mini. This is the new Sleigh Bells cotton ribbon! LOVE IT!!! I can't get enough of this cute little stitched ribbon.\
  • Sentiment is from the Stampin' UP Grateful Greetings stamp set using Real Red ink.
  • Snowman and swooshes are both from the Stampin' UP Snow Buddies stamp set I featured yesterday on my layout (you can see it by clicking here!) The hat is actually a separate stamp from the Snowman so I had to use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to get it lined up properly.
  • I colored the snowman's scarf and hat using my Stampin' UP markers that matched the color combo: Bashful Blue, Old Olive, and Real Red.
  • I embossed the So Saffron cardstock with a Texturz plate using my handy dandy Big Shot.
  • The corners of the Bashful Blue and the So Saffron cardstock were punched with the Corner Rounder punch.

The forgotten card!!!

This card was either posted on here and I FORGOT or either I totally FORGOT to post it on here! Either way, happy Monday, I have a cute little scalloped card to share with you this morning!! He he he! :O)

I made this card for my DT work at Your Memories Here AND for the Just Buggin' Challenge #1 (we are currently on challenge #4!!! I know, hence, the title, forgotten card!!!)

This card was made using Stampin' UP Ruby Red and Kraft cardstock. and the dsigner paper in the middle is from the Stampin' UP Thoroughly Modern paper pack! Super hip!! I used my Basic Black Stampin' UP marker to outline the sentiment.

My card features the following Cricut die cuts:
  • Scallop Card from the Wild Card Cartridge (blackout on doily card) 4.5inch
  • Circle from the Accent Essentials Cartridge 3.5inch
  • Just Because from the Wild Card Cartridge 1.5inch
  • Flourish from the Wild Card Cartridge for to page on my scrap of cardstock

Stamp Set of the Week Reveal: Er. . . FLU!

**I  am on a ProvoCraft/Cricut Boycott! They won't get another dime from me!  Got a Cricut? Well use it! Don't have one yet? Consider a different  machine!! Click here for more details about my boycott and how I got here!! You can join the boycott too!**

This week there will not be a stamp set of the week! GASP!!! Usually, I finish up my Stamp Set of the Week projects during the week BEFORE it is set to go live on my blog, but due to the flu, I wasn't able to get anything done last week past Tuesday. I got some "other" projects done, but not enough. I will just be skipping this week so next week make sure to get your Stamp Set of the Week game face back on and ready!!!! :O) I am going to be playing along with the Challenge Blog Blog Hop all this week so you will be hearing about it. Be sure to check it out!! You can get there through SPCC.

In lieu of sharing another weekly stamp set with you, today I thought I would share a new HOSTESS STAMP SET with you along with my Christmas Combo #5!!! This has to be one of my most favorite hostess sets ever! I used the stamp set called Snow Buddies and it is a level 2 hostess set that will only be available during the Holiday Mini until January 4th.

Stampin' UP has decided to start offering three mini catalogs per year, each lasting for 4 months each. That means there will ALWAYS be a mini catalog available filled with new goodies. Along with these new goodies is new hostess sets!! LOVE IT!!!

Here is my Christmas Combo #5:
Remember, if you use my Christmas Combo for your Christmas or Winter Holiday project, add your project to Mr. Linky below. You might just be featured on my blog!!! And you will get my special "I was Featured" button for your blog. :O) To see my other Christmas Combos, click here!

OK enough excited rambling, and onto my layout:

  • I used the sketch from Scrapbooks & Stuff for the Challenge Blog Hop. GREAT Sketch!!
  • Background cardstock is Tempting Turquoise cardstock
  • Patterned paper is from the Stampin' UP Simply Scrappin' Crew Kids Girl Kit. I cut this neat shape out using the Cricut Storybook cartridge. The borders and journaling circle are also from the same kit.
  • The flourish next to the title and the snowflakes at the bottom were stamped using the Stampin' UP Snow Buddies stamp set in Whisper White. Then I heat embossed them with white embossing powder so they would really pop off the page.
  • The snowman accent and the snowflake scallops are all stamped from the Snow Buddies stamp set and then colored in with Stampin' UP markers. I used Stampin' Dimensionals to make some of them pop off the page for some extra dimension and then covered them with some Stickles.
  • I used the Stampin' UP 1 3/8inch circle punch and the scallop circle punch to make the snowflake scallops.

New Cricut Cartridges!

**I  am on a ProvoCraft/Cricut Boycott! They won't get another dime from me!  Got a Cricut? Well use it! Don't have one yet? Consider a different  machine!! Click here for more details about my boycott and how I got here!! You can join the boycott too!**

Cricut has announced that they are going to be releasing 3 seasonal "mini" cartridges every quarter. The first round of these Mini's is set to be released this November, and they are shown below. I am calling these cartridges MINI's because they only have about 50 shapes on them and they don't have the functions on them like the regular or solutions cartridges. I am psyched because you know I love my bug!!! :O)

Stampin' With Sami Lesson: Stamp Inventory

Do you have so many stamp sets you don't even know what you have??? Well today's lesson will solve all those stamp organizing problems for you (er, well at least you WILL know what you have, maybe not WHERE it is! LOL) I have over 100 Stampin' UP stamp sets (something like 120ish sets) and now that I have my Stamp Inventory completed, it is much easier for me. I have some other brand of stamps (clear stamps mostly) and I plan on making a section for them in my inventory as well. But I haven't done it yet.

Each Saturday, I hope to have a Stampin' With Sami (SWS) Lesson for you -in the form of a tutorial with step-by-step photos. It will either be a fancy technique or a cool new way to use a product. Today, I am offering a storage/organization solution for you. The purpose of me bringing your these mini workshops is to hopefully convince you to become one of my lovely customers :O)

Today I am going to walk you through how to make a STAMP INVENTORY BINDER! I got this idea somewhere in blogland and I adapted the idea to suit my own needs. I hope that you can adapt my version to best suit your own stamping needs.

The idea behind a Stamp Inventory is you keep a binder filled with an image of every single stamp you own so you can go to that binder, flip through it, and then you can realize what you are looking for! If you aren't exactly sure what you want to use for a certain project, then you can go to the binder and browse until you find what you want to use. Sometimes, before you even know what you want to make, you can go to the binder and just flip and see a stamp you haven't thought about in a while and that could be enough to spark some ideas!!

SUPPLIES NEEDED:
  • plain old hard back 3 ring binder
  • 8.5X11 paper (I just purchased a ream of pastel colored paper at Staples because I wanted it to be pretty, LOL)
  • 8.5X11 page protectors
  • computer and printer (optional) or a pen
  • your stamps
  • some ink
STEPS:
***You have to choose your organization method -alphabetical (by stamp set name), by theme (christmas, sports, nature, etc), or something completely different. I chose to organize my stamps alphabetically by stamp set name because I have my stamps stored in ABC order so for me it is easy to go straight from the binder to find my stamp sets since they are organized similarly. Alphabetical order works for me also because when I get a new stamp set, it is easy for me to add the new set to the binder by just adding it in the correct order.

1. THIS IS WHERE YOU COULD USE THE COMPUTER IF YOU WANT TO. Put the name of the stamp set at the top of each page, either by typing it and printing it or using a pen.

2. Stamp each image from that stamp set onto the sheet of paper.

Here is an example with a typed title:

Here is an example with a handwritten title:

3. Place the sheet of paper inside a page protector.

4. Place the page protector inside your binder in order.5. REPEAT!

HELPFUL TIPS:
  • When I first decided to make my Stamp Inventory, I was working with maybe 50 stamp sets, so I made a list of all the stamp sets and then typed the names so one would be at the top of each sheet of paper (we have a laserjet B+W printer) then just printed them out. I do have some of them hand written, but most of mine are typed up because I tend to update my inventory in batches.
  • Only stamp one stamp set per page and one stick one sheet inside each page protector! That way you can add pages without having to re-stamp anything. This is especially important if you are using the ABC order method.
  • Decorate the outside of your binder and make it your own! Mine has pink title plate, but other than that it is plain. Maybe someday it will get some love. LOL!
