SPRING CLEANING GIVEAWAY Extravaganza

Hey everyone!! I hope you are having a great Sunday!!

I have been clearing out my scraproom and let me tell you... it is QUITE the job!!!  So here is what I am going to do. Rather than donating or throwing away my scrappy stash that has gone unloved, I am going to be GIVING IT ALL AWAY here on my blog!!  There are some great goodies to be given away :O)

This week, I will be working hard to get these giveaways posted so my project posts will be delayed and sporadic if at all.

All week long, I am going to be "paying to forward" and posting about various items that I want to give away. If you would like to receive the items, simply become a follower if you aren't already and then leave me a comment under that blog post and you will be entered to win that item.  You can enter for every item if you want it so you get as many chances to win as you want.

I am going to have one ULTIMATE GRAND PRIZE (a Stampin' UP gift certificate from me!!!) that will be announced at the end of the week that will be drawn from everyone who participates in my Spring Cleaning Giveaway Extravaganza!!!

Make A Wish Card

**I  am on a ProvoCraft/Cricut Boycott! They won't get another dime from me!  Got a Cricut? Well use it! Don't have one yet? Consider a different  machine!! Click here for more details about my boycott and how I got here!! You can join the boycott too!**

Hey everyone! Happy Saturday! I hope you are having a great weekend!

I will give you an update on the vet appointment yesterday. . . first, Skyeler is SICK still. They are giving her some stronger antibiotics to try to get rid of her pneumonia and we go back in two weeks. If she isn't better, then she is going to have to have a trans-tracheal wash (which is basically just a fancy name for sticking a tube down into her lungs and gathering bacteria in some saline! AHHH). So we are hoping not to go that far and hoping these new antibiotics will do the trick.  She is still eating and drinking so they don't think that this is life threatening so far but we are having to watch her very closely.

And Emma's knee is just sprained a little bit. She hasn't been limping nearly as much and she will be back to normal in a few days..

In other news, I have a bright and cheery card for your viewing pleasure!! Here is another card that I made using the mini gel pen holder from Amy Chomas. This this is so neat and every time I think about using it, I get giddy! LOL This thing is so cool!!  You know I LOVE my Cricut and I LOVE my Copics and it is so much fun being able to bring them together.

I thought this sentiment was perfect for my rainbow card. The sentiment is from the A Little Birthday Cheer Stampin' UP stamp set.

  • YoYo Yellow Cardstock

  • Stamp-a-ma-jig
  • Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pad

Let's Eat Cake!

Hello everyone!! Hope you are having a great Friday.

Well, my Friday just got AWESOME. . . lookie what I got in the mail today:

It is my new BLACKBERRY CURVE!!!!!! YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!  I am so excited to finally have a blackberry! I have been wanting one ever since I got to play around with my mom's Blackberry, gosh, it feels like forever ago, like two summers ago! Susan, do you remember??? Well this one is MINE!

I don't think you can really tell in the photo, but it is a metallic light purple color? Too bad they didn't have a pink one! That would have been even better LOL.

I mention this because I am SOOOOO EXCITED... but I also have a point! LOL It means I will be able to answer emails *hopefully* fast (now not ALL THE TIME people, I am not going to be connected to this thing 24/7, ok maybe I will be for the first little while because it is SO COOL!).

Email is always the best way to get in contact with me and now it will be even easier :O)

Well, I have a vet appointment here in a little while, and my day will only go downhill from here so I have to enjoy it while I can. . . Ugh, Skyeler is SICK, she has been on meds for a few weeks for pneumonia (AHH!) and she is NOT getting better. The poor thing just lays around all day and coughs. It is really sad and stressful dealing with a sick doggie.  So we have an appointment this afternoon to take the poor thing to the vet again.

And magically, I don't know how, Emma started limping on her good back leg about an hour ago (not the one she broke last March, the good one that she has never had problems with), it was so hard to watch her trying to limp around. I have no idea what happened, she has been inside all day so I don't know what she did to hurt it. She wouldn't put any weight on the leg at all and she would barely let me try to feel it. SO now she too is going to see the vet!!  I gave her some of her little pain meds (doggie opiates LOL) and she is now sleeping right next to me as I am writing this.

So wish us luck, we are going to need it!!!

Now, on to today's project!

My card today featured stamped images from the Piece of Cake Snag'em Stamps available in the YMH store. YMH has a great selection of Imaginisce stamps.

  • I stamped the Little cupcakes with Memento Tuxedo Black in so that I could color them in with my Copic Ciaos. I used RV02, RV04, and YR04.
  • The card background was made with Only Orange Cardstock and My Mind's Eye Glitter patterned paper, I think this paper is from the Summer Song Stack but I am not 100% on that.
  • I made a little border using the Scallop Trim Border Punch and Rose Red cardstock.
  • The little sentiment was stamped onto Pretty in Pink cardstock and I used the 1 and 3/8inch Circle Punch to punch it out. In the center of it, I added an embellishment from the Sweet Pea Stitched Felt set.

Bella Bella Layout

**I  am on a ProvoCraft/Cricut Boycott! They won't get another dime from me!  Got a Cricut? Well use it! Don't have one yet? Consider a different  machine!! Click here for more details about my boycott and how I got here!! You can join the boycott too!**

Hey everyone!! I have been waiting soooo patiently to reveal this layout to you!! It has been done for quite a while and now I can finally show it to you!!

This is one of my favorite layouts that I have made in quite a while AND I used two challenges for this one.

Oh, and I have decided to give Just Buggin a new name and a new design.  Just Buggin' is now Cricutters Anonymous and it has a totally adorable blog design now. Be sure to hop on over there and check it out.

This project was made for Cricutters Anonymous challenge #30: The Woman Challenge. I also used this week's color combo over at SP Color Combos.

This is a layout dedicated to be Baby Bella. Her name is Bella and I named her way before I had ever even heard of Twilight so she wasn't named after Bella Swan! LOL

  • The background on my layout is the best part of my layout :O) I made a mask using a die cut I made from the Cricut Home Accents cartridge and I also used Glimmer Mist in the color Sandy Beach. I will be showing you how to do this technique soon.
  • The large top note shape was cut from Really Rust cardstock using the Cricut Storybook cartridge.
  • I used some Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon to embellish the frame.
  • Finally I made this adorable flower accent using my Scallop Circle Punch and a Pretty in Pink Corduroy Button.

Happy Birthday Card

Hey everyone!!

I bet some of you loyal SP readers are wondering what is going on with me. . . let me tell you. . . I am battling two things right now. . .I just want to explain my unusual posting lately. I have had a couple of weird things going on lately. Usually I have no trouble at all keeping up with everything, but lately it has been a little bit of a challenge for me.  It seems like I have been off a day or two! LOL

THE TIRED:
As you all have heard a million times, I suffer from severe migraine disease. Right now, that is very much under control with the help of Botox injections to help with the migraine prevention. It seems to be working GREAT except ever since my last injections I have been fighting this INTENSE urge to sleep. I am not just talking sleeping at night, I am talking ALL THE TIME!!! I did also catch the flu or a virus around the same time I got the injections. The neurologist has changed some of my meds around too so it could be the Botox, the meds, a combo of the two, being sick, or something completely different.I have no idea what is causing this, but I am TIRED ALL THE TIME! Usually I actually have trouble sleeping, but now I can easily sleep 10-12hours or even longer. It is really interfering with getting things done as you can probably imagine. This has been a very strange time for me and losing all those hours sleeping has really been cutting into my "me" time. I am just trying to find a new balance to everything.  I just wanted to let you know because I know some people worry about my migraines (and I appreciate your concern!!). They aren't really the problem lately. I haven't had very many since my new round of injections became fully effective.

SPRING FEVER:
And on top of sleeping the day away, I have been really having some spring cleaning fever this past week, which seems to be when my blogging finally started lagging. I have really wanted to get things in the house more organized and donate some of the stuff. Today, I spent all day going through our bedroom, the closet, and the dresser, donating old clothes and getting rid of some of the junk. It really makes me feel good to get rid of the clutter!!

And with the spring cleaning, I am going to be giving away quite a big of scrappy goodies very soon on my blog so I wanted to give you a heads up!! You should sign up to be a follower so you don't miss out!

Now, enough chit chat! Let's get onto today's project finally!!

This is a birthday card I made a while back:

  • The sentiment and circle label are both stamps from the Stampin' UP Vintage Labels stamp set. This stamp set is only available until the end of the month through Sale-a-bration so don't miss out!!
  • I punched out the label with the Scallop Circle Punch.
  • The patterned paper and ribbon are both Bermuda Bay.
  • The card base is Rich Razzleberry.

WINNER!!!

The winner from the SP Color Combos Blog Hop is. . .

CLAIRE!!!!

My Little Giraffe Layout

**I  am on a ProvoCraft/Cricut Boycott! They won't get another dime from me!  Got a Cricut? Well use it! Don't have one yet? Consider a different  machine!! Click here for more details about my boycott and how I got here!! You can join the boycott too!**

Hey everyone!!  I was MIA yesterday because I was helping my mom redecorate her room (we were still working on that today!). I meant to get my flower tutorial up yesterday so I will get it on sometime tonight. I will also be picking a winner from the blog hop so stay tuned!!

Today, I have a cute little layout for you of my precious little Mya in her giraffe costume for Halloween! This is one of my favorite photos of her because she looks so funny!!!!

I made this layout for Fox & Friends week:
  • The tiny giraffes were stamped from the Fox & Friends stamp set in Pretty in Pink Classic ink.
  • The big giraffe was made using my Cricut Expression and the New Arrival cartridge. I used the Flip feature to make the giraffe face to the left because the actual die cut image was set to face to the right.  He was made with Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, and Apricot Appeal cardstock.
  • My title was made from Whisper White and Pretty in Pink cardstock using the Cricut Pooh Font cartridge.
  • The background paper is Barely Banana cardstock
  • The patterned paper is from the Stampin' Up Sweet Pea designer paper stack.
  • I made the adorable ruffles using Pretty in Pink satin Ribbon.  I will be doing a tutorial on this shortly.

Hey everyone! I hope you are having a great Friday!

I feel like I am running way behind this week! I can't believe it is already Friday!! Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend?

Today, I have a simple Easter card for you.

This card was made using some flowers from the Prima Hydrangea Bouquet - Pink Lavender available at the Your Memories Here store..

I made the marquee shapes using the Cricut Expression with the Cricut Forever Young cartridge. I just repeated the same shape, but used a half and inch larger size for the yellow one.

The accents on the egde are White Dew drops from the following set: Solid White, Black and Metallic Silver dew drops available at the Your Memories Here store.

The patterned paper is from the Basic Grey Lemonade paper pack.

My sentiment is from the Stampin' UP Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set and I punched it out with the Word Window Punch.

Can You Handle This?

**I  am on a ProvoCraft/Cricut Boycott! They won't get another dime from me!  Got a Cricut? Well use it! Don't have one yet? Consider a different  machine!! Click here for more details about my boycott and how I got here!! You can join the boycott too!**

Happy Thursday everyone!!!

FYI, my weekly newsletter has been delayed until tomorrow. I didn't get it quite finished yesterday with the madness of getting ready for my exam (and I had a paper due today), so the newsletter will be delivered on Friday this week. I just wanted to let you know that you haven't been forgotten!

Now. . . I don't know if you can handle this. . . it just might be THE coolest idea ever invented (no it wasn't my idea AT ALL, so I can't take credit for it. . .)

You know those cool mini gel pen holders for the Cricut machine??? Well if you don't, be sure to stop by the brilliant blog of Amy Chomas. She is the creator of the mini gel pen holder AND the mini Sharpie holder for the Cricut machine!  These things are made to draw, rather than cutting with a blade. . .

Amy was kind enough to send me a mini gel pen holder because she knows how much I love my Copic Markers. Long story short, Amy said Try THIS with your Copics. . . so I did. . . and it is AWESOME!!

You see that mannequin? Well I DREW it with the Cricut and the Forever Young cartridge and then colored it in with my Copics!!!

I know, awesome huh?? I can barely contain my excitement! This is just so exciting I can barely handle it! I will have to make a video because this is so awesomely mind boggling!!!

I know what I am going to be playing with over the next few days!!!

  • The mannequin was drawn using Amy's Mini Gel Pen holder. Then I colored in the design with my Copics. The mini gel pen ink DID NOT run or anything! I uesd the following Copic colors: R20, R22, and R27 for the top, W1 for the shadow, and E29 for the base.
  • To make the shape around the image, I used the Center Point feature on my Cricut Expression to make sure that the cool shape would cut around the image. This shape is also from the Cricut Forever Young cartridge.
  • I sponged around the shape with a Stampin' UP Sponge Dauber and Close to Cocoa Classic ink.
  • The sentiment is from the Stampin' UP Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set. It is stamped onto Apricot Appeal cardstock using Ruby Red Classic Ink. Then I punched out the shape with the Modern Label Punch.
  • The ribbon is Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon.
  • The patterned paper is from a DCWV premium stack (I am blanking on the name of it, but it is a vintage style! LOL). I used the Corner Rounder Punch on the top edges of the patterned paper.
  • On the Pumpkin Pie cardstock I used the Scallop Edge Punch.
  • The card base was made with Chocolate Chip cardstock.

  • Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set
  • Chocolate Chip Cardstock
  • Apricot Appeal Cardstock
  • Whisper White Cardstock
  • Pumpkin Pie Cardstock
  • Ruby Red Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Close to Cocoa Classic Stampin' Pad
  • Modern Label Punch
  • Corner Rounder Punch
  • Scallop Edge Border Punch
  • Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon
  • Sponge Dauber (set of 12)
