Family Pool Fun Layout

Howdy, folks!! How are you today?  I am psyched because ONE WEEK from today, I will be enjoying myself in our new condo!! I am so ready to be in our new place.

Today, I have a creation using the May SP Subscription Club Kit. The May kit is SOLD OUT, but there is still a little time to get your hands on the June kit (and by a little time, I mean until Saturday because my store will be closed on Sunday for a week, EEK!)! I'm tellin' ya, my club is pretty fun and the kits are packed with enough supplies to make quite a few projects. I still have a lot of paper left over from my May kit and it is already the end of June!

And now, there is even more of a reason to join my lovely club. . . 15% off!!  Yep, my subscribers now receive 15% off all of their purchases made in the  SP and Company store.

This layout is of my mom, aunt, uncle, and cousin in 1986. . . before I was born. That adorable little baby is my cousin.
Layout details:
  • The letter alphas, sticker elements, and patterned paper are all from the Echo Park Splash Collection Kit, which is part of the May SP Subscription Club Kit.
  • I added some Stickles glitter glue to the swirly on the paper, and to accentuate the swirlies, I created additional swirlies using adhesive rhinestones.
  • Around some of the fish, I used my Copic Multiliner from iCopic.com to make them stand out from the paper.
  • And finally, I added a googly eye onto each of the fish to make them adorable :)

3D Gorjuss Card Kit

Hello everyone! It's my pleasure to present the Tuesday Tips and Tricks for iCopic.com today.. Have you seen the Gorjuss 3D Die-Cut Box Card Kits??

Well, that is what we are going to talk about today, and they are soooo neat!! I received this Card kit and created this amazing 3d card in like 5 minutes! I just love how quick and easy it was to put this card together.

And here is the back, where you can add your own message. I chose to stamp a sentiment from the SP and Company Mini Card Creations I stamp set.

And the best thing is, when you are ready to mail your card off to someone special, the card folds flat inside the envelopes that come with the kit!!

Isn't that a neat card?! It was just so simple and stunning.  The kit comes with 5 different cards plus instructions and envelopes so there is plenty to work with.

iCopic Weekly Challenge #36

Hey everyone!! Welcome to the iCopic Weekly Challenge #36.

The challenge: Airbrushing or fancy background
Use your Copic airbrushing system! Experiment and see what you can create with it. If you don't own an airbrush system, then create a fancy background as an alternative.

Link up to your creations in the linky widget below. The official rules can be found here. Entries are due Sunday July 3rd at noon PST. A winner will be chosen at random from all of the participants and the winner will be given this week's lovely prize.

And for this challenge, I have created two technique videos about airbrushing. I think EVERY.SINGLE one of us Copic lovers need an airbrush system, whether it is the smallest of ABS systems or you go the big air compressor route (I LOVE my air compressor!!).

In this video, I show you airbrushing with a masking technique:

In this video, I show you how I airbrush without a masking technique:

And here is a close-up of the image I created in the second video.  Copic colors used: BG53 (for the airbrushing), E00, E23, E29, E99, Y38, BG02, BG05, BG07, RV21, RV23, RV25, and RV29. The image is the Tutti Cuti

After my Watermelon Lovers layout, I had two more photos of the pups eating watermelon so I made this layout.

Here are some close ups:

Layout details:
  • The patterned paper and sticker elements are from the June SP Subscription Club Kit, which contains the Echo Park Country Drive collection. The small letters are also from this kit.
  • I created the title with felt Thickers from American Crafts.
  • I added a little Old Olive Satin ribbon around the photos.
  • I used the following Stampin' UP Cardstock colors: Old Olive and Real Red.
  • The final touch was adding a black outline around some of the elements, using my Copic Multiliner from iCopic.com.

New Kit Club Perk & Sink Fun Layout

Hi folks! I have a super duper layout to share with you really quick.

This is a layout of ME when I was a little girl! I sure used to be a cutie. LOL

Today's project was made using the May SP Subscription Club Kit. The May kit is SOLD OUT, but there is still a little time to get your hands on the June kit! I'm tellin' ya, my club is pretty fun. I will be sharing some June kit projects with you very soon.

And now, there is even more of a reason to join my lovely club. . . 15% off!!  Yep, my subscribers now receive 15% off all of their purchases made in the  SP and Company store. That means 15% off SP and Co stamps, 15% off Basic Grey, 15% off Echo Park. . . and a few others :)  Read all the benefits of the club by clicking here.
Layout details:
  • The patterned papers came from the May SP Subscription Club Kit, which contained Echo Park's Splash collection kit.
  • The pink grid paper was stamped and given a "distressed" look with the SP and Company Kokimo Background stamp set. This is a square shaped background stamp, but I created the rough edges by wiping off some of the ink using a tissue.
  • The rounded corner on the pink patterned paper was made using the Large Corner Rounder Punch from EK Success.
  • The alphas are felt Thickers made by American Crafts.
  • Using my Copic RV11 from iCopic.com, I made a swirl across the pink patterned paper, and then stuck adhesive rhinestones along the swirly.

Kokimo Baby Card

Hey there, scrappy buds! How's your Friday going? Mine has been slow, but about to get more interesting. And I am still chugging along getting things all ready for the move. We've got two weeks left until we get our condo. So exciting!

My project for today has a SNEAK PEEK on it from an upcoming stamp set for SP and Co Stamps. I also used the wonderful Kokimo Background stamp for today's project. This is one of my favorite "clean and simple" looking cards lately.
Card Details:
  • For the background tiles, I used the SP and Company Kokimo Background stamp. I stamped four times onto Whisper White cardstock (from Stampin' UP), two times with Pretty in Pink ink, and two times with Daffodil Delight ink. Then I just trimmed out all of the squares with my paper trimmer.
  • Next, I used a piece of scrap paper and covered it with adhesive and lined up the center of my new background covered squares. You can't SEE my scrap paper, but it saved me quite a bit of time trying to line up my tiles.
  • I matted the tiles with Pretty in Pink textured cardstock, and the base of the card is So Saffron cardstock (both from Stampin' UP.
  • That GORGEOUS sentiment is the sneak peek stamp from SP and Co. This stamp set will make its debut during our July monthly blog hop!! I have already made so many projects with this set and I just know you are gonna love it.
  • To dress up the card, I used some adhesive rhinestones, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon, and an epoxy brad (all from Stampin' UP, but the brads are retired)
Well, I hope that you all have a lovely Friday and I will be back here tomorrow with a scrapbook layout. Later!

  • And stay tuned for a brand new set coming out that I used on today's project! The fun starts July 7th!

You're My Sunshine Card

Hello everyone! I am shocked to be able to tell you that today's project is my 2,000th (yes two thousandth!!) blog post here at SP! Can you believe that? Well, it has been a long and wonderful journey running this blog and I couldn't be happier with where we are going!! I thank you for visiting me, whether you are a new reader or a dedicated reader (some of you for years!). Stick with me, folks because a lot of fun is still to be had.

And today's card is no exception :O)

On this card, I used a reverse masking technique as part of the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday challenge. I was blog hopping and perusing some of my favorite blogs when I saw their video and I was so inspired, I jumped up from the computer and made this:

Card details:
  • For the Make it Monday challenge, you are required to use at least one Papertrey Ink supply. Well lucky for me, I didn't pack up my FAVORITE ribbon of all time (love PTI's saddle stitch, have it in almost every color) when I packed up the majority of my scrap room getting ready for our new place. I had already packed up all my stamps, most of my cardstock so I was limited to the ribbon I had kept out and the sparse supplies left on my desk.
  • For the reverse masking, I used the SP and Company Rainboots stamp set and made them look patterned by using the Big Bold Background stamp
  • The sentiment is also from the Rainboots stamp set and was stamped in black ink.
  • I colored the boots in with Copics from iCopic.com: RV11 and RV29, then stamped the Big Bold Background using Melon Mambo classic ink from Stampin' UP.
  • I created a glow around the boots with Copics Y000 and Y00. Then I added the small strip of Daffodil Delight cardstock (Stampin' UP) cut with the Scallop Trim Border Punch.
  • The patterned paper is from the Echo Park Be Mine collection, called Airmail Stripe.
  • The card base is Stampin' UP Blushing Bride cardstock.

That is it for today. I hope your day is great! I will be packing some more boxes and getting ready for the move. . . two more weeks left.

No More Pictures Layout

Hey everyone!! I feel like a chicken with its head cut off these days! We are two weeks away from moving to our new condo and I can't find anything!! LOL I have packed and packed and everything is just so out of order.
Today was Tuesday Tips and Tricks over at the iCopic blog and so I have a mini lesson to share with you! This lesson is all about coloring on patterned paper with your Copics!

Copics are great for coloring over patterned papers because they are semi-opaque which means that they don't cover up another surface completely and the color beneath shows through (when I think of opaque, I think of acrylic paint, super thick and it will cover anything up completely).

This semi-opaque quality comes in handy when you are mixing colors, for example, coloring balloons or something translucent.

But it also comes in handy if you want to color on your patterned paper.

For this project, I added some Copic coloring to stamped images that I stamped directly onto some patterned paper.

I created cute little pinwheels at the bottom of my scrapbook layout using the new Lawn Fawn stamp set called Cruising Through Life. This is a silly photo of my sweet husband.

With the lightest pinwheels (colored in with Copics B00 and B01) you can see the patterned paper behind them. With the darker pinwheel (colored in with Copics B37 and B39) you can't hardly see anything behind it. The darker your color is, the less you will be able to see behind it.

For the center of all the pinwheels I used Copic YR09, and for the sticks, I used E97

Other Layout Details:
  • The patterned paper and cardstock sticker elements are from the Echo Park Walk in the Park kit.
  • The alphabet letters are chipboard polka dot glitter Thickers from American Crafts (and available in my online store!). I used the colors Robin's Egg and Peacock.
  • I matted my hubby's photo onto some Chocolate Chip cardstock (from Stampin' UP) and then did some faux stitching around the edges and the photo with my Signo White Gel Pen.

That's all I have for y'all today. Be sure to stop by tomorrow for Design Team Wednesday! So pull out some patterned paper and experiment to see what you can come up with. I am sure you can come up with something really great!
