My Little Darling Layout

Hi everyone! We got back from all the wedding festivities yesterday. It was so much fun meeting her family and getting to see all of the Peytons together. The wedding was gorgeous, and I am so happy that we got to go see it. We were so exhausted after all the fun though LOL.

Somehow I ended up losing a day here on the blog. This layout was supposed to be for yesterday, as it was intended for the iCopic blog, but my Friday's project didn't post as scheduled, so I just decided to hold off on my project I had intended for today and show you this beauty!

In this layout, can you see my Copics?? Look really closely :) I made this layout using the July SP Subscription Club Kit. These kits are NOT still available, so new sign-ups will be joining for the August kit.
Yep, you guessed it. . . those flowers were AIRBRUSHED! Let me say it again in case you don't already know. . .

I LOVE THE COPIC AIRBRUSH SYSTEM! It is one of my most favorite things about Copics.  If you don't yet own one or haven't tried you, you need to! They are so neat!

Layout Details
  • The patterned paper, border sticker element, and small alphas are all from the Victoria Gardens Echo Park Collection Kit, which is part of the July SP Subscription Club Kit. The Victoria Gardens papers are still available, but I am SOLD OUT of the Bold Sentiments I stamp set for now. I am working on getting those reordered for you guys.
  • On this layout, my plain old white paper flowers were transformed with Copics. I used the following colors, which were all purchased at iCopic.com: BGG72, BG75, and BG78.  I just started airbrushing with my lightest color and added the darker two colors in small amounts to give the flowers a slight variation in shading. I didn't want them to look all flat and boring.
  • To create my banner, I used some of my favorite SP and Company stamps: Pretty Pendants stamp set, and Kokimo Background. I trimmed out the banners using my Xacto blade and curled the tips of them around my finger so they look like they are raised up a little bit. I used Hawaiian Shores cardstock from Papertrey Ink and Taken with Teal ink from Stampin' UP.
  • The larger alpas are glitter polka dot Thickers (This is the Bubblegum color) from American Crafts. I do have these in all three colors available in the store.
  • I also used the lovely Bold Sentiments I stamp set to create the sentiment on the banner coming out of one flower. The little pup in the photo has definitely got my true love.
  • I did a little distressing using the Heidi Swapp Edge Distresser tool. I picked this up a LONG time ago at a local big box scrapping store for $0.99 and just found it again when I was unpacking all of my scrapbooking goodies! I was so happy to discover it in my stash LOL.

The Perfect Presentation -Video

***ARGH darn Blogger, just now noticed this wasn't posted Friday morning like it was supposed to. Sorry folks!***

Hey everyone! So remember that wedding card I shared with you yesterday? Well today, I am going to show you how I made it into a spectacular and from-the-heart wedding present. Tucked inside of the package is a visa gift card (who needs three blenders when they can have real money to spend as they wish?!).

In this video, you will see how I made the envelope:

And here are some still shots of the finished package:

Happy Everything Wedding Card

Hey everyone! Happy Thursday!! Today is an amazing day because today Johnny's brother is getting married!!!! YIPPEEE! We are so happy for him and can't wait to watch his happy day.

In order to somewhat match the happiness of the occasion, today I chose a "Happy Everything" card. This is one of my most favorite just because sentiments. It just covers it all. And in this case, I turned it into a wedding card for the happy couple. What could be better than receiving a card that says "Happy Everything". It is just elegant and lovely. Here it is:
Card Details:
  • The card is a square card. I chose the card shape to match the scallop square shape I cut out from the Cricut Cake Basics cartridge (Boycott ProvoCraft, click here for details!).
  • The main image is a flower from the SP and Company For Every Woman stamp set. The two flowers in this set are just perfect for any occasion.
  • I colored the flower in with Copics from iCopic.com. I used the following colors: E97, E99, YR12, YR14, YR15, YR16.
  • Around the edges I used the Tim Holtz ink applicator tool (also from iCopic.com) and some Daffodil Delight ink from Stampin' UP.
  • The card base is also Daffodil Delight.
  • The sentiment is from the SP and Company Bold Sentiments I stamp set which is now sold out, but will be back in stock shortly. I stamped the sentiment in Pumpkin Pie ink from Stampin' UP.
Well, that is all I have for you today. Tomorrow, I am going to show you how I made this card into a spectacular wedding gift with the presentation so stick around. See you soon!

Missing You Card for Use it Tuesday

***The SP and Company Bold Sentiments I Stamp set is SOLD OUT! Watch for news on when this set will be restocked***

Hey everyone! Happy Tuesday! Yes, in two weeks of its release, the Bold Sentiments I set is GONE! I will be getting this set restocked soon.

Today, my man and I are getting ready to head down to Georgia for his brother's wedding!!! I am so excited to finally get to meet my soon-to-be sister-in-law. It is going to be really wonderful to watch them on their happy day. I can't wait!

Anyway, so I am going to be gone for three days, but I will have the blog scheduled and ready for you guys each morning (so you won't even notice I am gone!).

Today's project is the project I made for the Use it Tuesday challenge. The challenge is called Two-fer: Use TWO items you have been hoarding. Well with a room full of scrappy goodness, finding two items was easy! I actually ended up using three hoarded items.

Funny story about hoarded scrapbooking supplies. . . well, we had to estimate the price of our belongings for insurance purposes. We went room by room and added up the cost of everything. When all was said and done, Johnny did some nerdy figures. Turns out, the cost of my scraproom is 51% of our belongings!! Needless to say, I won't be making any scrappy purchases anytime soon :)

I thought you might get a chuckle out of that one. Anyway, so here is my card!
Card Details
  • My hoarded items for the challenge are the two pieces of cardstock (retired from Stampin' UP, Pixie Pink and Pink Passion), and the Tempting Turquoise grosgrain ribbon (was retired, but came back in the newest Stampin' UP catalog)
  • The image is from Tutti Cuti and I got it from iCopic.com. The image details and a video tutorial on the airbrushing technique can be found by clicking here!
  • The sentiment is from the Bold Sentiments I stamp set, which is now sold out, but will be restocked.
  • The patterned paper is from the Echo Park Candy Shoppe paper pad.
  • On the Pink Passion cardstock, I used the Stampin' UP Scallop Edge border punch.

Pumpkin Pups Layout

Hello there! This week's iCopic Weekly challenge is a real challenge. I had a lot of fun with it and I am sure you will too.

The challenge: Anything but a card
I know some of you just shuddered when you read that, but you can do this!! Think scrapbook layouts, mini pages, gift sets, 3d items, tags, gift tags, bookmarks, wall art, etc. There are so many options so get creative and see what you can come up with.

Add a direct link to your pastel project below. Projects are due on July 31st at noon PST. A winner will be chosen at random to receive this week's prize AND be showcased right here on the iCopic blog Sunday evening!

For the inspiration project, I decided to make a scrapbook layout and I decided to use my handy dandy Copic Airbrush System. If you need more inspiration, please see the end of this post because I have a list of past projects that fit this challenge.

What I did was cut out my letters out of cheap cardstock using a die cut machine, taped them to my page with repositionable tape (you don't want them to rip your paper when you peel them off later), and then airbrushed around them with my Copic C7 marker.  When I was done, I just peeled the letters off and threw them into my recycle bin.

Layout Details:
  • The letters were airbrushed (as described above) using the ABS3 and Copic C7 marker all from iCopic.com. The letters were cut out from scrap paper using the Cricut Cupcake cartridge at 1.5inches tall.
  • The background cardstock is Pumpkin Pie textured cardstock. I stamped on it with the SP and Company Big Bold Background Stamp and the Flourishee Stamp Set. For the Big Bold BG I used Black ink, and for the flourish I used Pumpkin Pie ink for a tone on tone look.
  • The swirl shapes were cut from Basic Black cardstock using the Cricut Cake Basics cartridge at fit to length 9inches (the one on the right) and the other one was cut at 6inches tall (the one on the left).
  • I added adhesive rhinestones from Stampin' UP to the swirls.
  • The pumpkin was cut from patterned paper from the Echo Park Candy Shoppe paper pad using the Cricut Martha Stewart Seasonal Cake Art cartridge at 4inches tall. The top was made using some Old Olive cardstock (from Stampin' UP).
  • I inked around the edges of the pumpkin with Close to Cocoa ink (retired from Stampin' UP) using a sponge dauber.
  • PSSSST! I am still boycotting ProvoCraft and not purchasing any more of their products, find out more, click here! They continue to do bad things and I will not support them.
  • And finally, the photo was matted on some American Crafts black glitter paper. This stuff is AWESOME!

Beautiful Girls Layout

Hey there! Happy Saturday!

Today, I decided to switch things up. I was going to post another organization and storage video, and wait to post this layout until Sunday.. .. but I love it so much, I want to share it today! So check back here tomorrow for another organization and storage video.

So this layout is the first layout I made using the July SP Subscription Club Kit. These kits are NOT still available, so new sign-ups will be joining for the August kit.

Layout Details
  • The patterned paper, sticker elements, and alphas are all from the Victoria Gardens Echo Park Collection Kit, which is part of the July SP Subscription Club Kit.
  • The Absolutely Fabulous sentiment on the label shape is a stamp from the Bold Sentiments I stamp set. I stamped it in Stazon Ink since the sticker elements are sort of glossy and I didn't want it to smudge.
  • The patterned paper squares and photo mats were cut at 3.75inches square. The photos are 3.5inches square.
  • Around all the square paper edges, I used Close to Cocoa (retired from Stampin' UP) ink and a sponge dauber to add some distressing to the squares.
  • The cardstock that the photos are mounted on is American Crafts Robin's Egg Textured CS 12X12
  • The background cardstock is Pink Pirouette textured cardstock from Stampin' UP.
  • The journaling lines were made using a stamp from the SP and Company Scallops and Lines stamp set. I love adding lines easily with a stamp because I cannot write in a straight line without it!
  • Around the edge of the label shape, I used my Copic Multiliner from iCopic.com

And here is a video of the newest Echo Park release, Victoria Gardens! This kit is part of the July SP Subscription Club Kit! This collection is so beautiful and I will be playing with it for the rest of the day (who really needs dinner, right?). I have only a few of these left in stock, so make sure to order ASAP.

Yes, I know that the episodes are out of order still! I will be getting them back in the correct order after my organization and storage video series is over. I had already gotten my series completed and then wanted to make other videos LOL.

SP Episode 58: Media Tower Stamp Storage

Hey everyone! TGIF! Do you have any good plans for the weekend?

We are just going to relax because thankfully I got my dress shopping out of the way yesterday. Johnny's older brother is getting married next week and so I had to go shopping to find something nice to wear. The only formal wear I had was my own wedding dress, and I don't think that would have gone over too well, LOL. My very goofy husband kept joking around and telling me I didn't need another dress because I should just wear my wedding dress! So I ended up with two very nice dresses to choose from and so we are ready to go celebrate his big day!!

For today, I have another organization and storage video for you -this time, showing you my media tower and stamp storage. When we moved, I altered this a little bit and added in two wall mounted media towers so I will shoot a follow-up video when my room is all finished.

Later today (as soon as I am finished with it), I will have a video of the brand new Victoria Garden Collection by Echo Park, it arrived yesterday and it is SOOOO GOREOUS! I have a few collection kits available in the store so be sure to pick one up!

Video: DIY Paper Storage

Hello! Happy Thursday!

I am about to head over to the vet's office with Emma and Mya for a booster shot, but first I wanted to get this post up for ya today. Wish my little pups luck!

Today, I have a video of my paper storage. Before I moved, I shot a series of short videos showing you some of my storage ideas that people had asked me about when I first shared photos of my Scrapbook Nook. Well, many of my same storage ideas are new being used in my new scraproom, so I thought I would go ahead and still share them even though I just moved.

The first video (below) is about my DIY paper storage. It was almost free, super easy, and looks AWESOME!!! The paper storage is still one of my favorite parts of my room.

Thanks for stopping by! I will have another organization and storage video for you tomorrow so see you soon.

I missed her gorgeous project last week and so I wanted y'all to see it now.

Cricut Mini

ProvoCraft has announced their newest thing. . . the Cricut Mini.

So far, here is what I know:
  • It cuts up to 8.5 X12 inches
  • It HAS to be hooked up to the Cricut Craftroom online program (which is not up and running completely, and is internet only, so if/when this program is working, you WILL be connected to the computer and internet)
  • It still requires cartridges and has no stand-alone capabilities.

So here are my thoughts:
  • So now, not only are you forced to use cartridges, but now you are forced to also use your computer AND have internet service. Being constrained by cartridges is bad enough for some people, but to have to have internet to use the machine is simply too much!
  • I am sure it will have just as many, if not more, problems than their last few new "greatest" ideas. They STILL have problems with their last few products, which is why I am a huge supporter of the ProvoCraft Boycott
  • This machine looks REALLY REALLY similar to the Silhouette, which I find really strange considering how PC bullies companies that copy them with crazy lawsuits.
  • I have seen A LOT of complaints and negative comments about this machine already.
  • I think it is ABSOLUTELY CRAZY for ProvoCraft to release a machine that can only be used with a program that isn't even working yet! That is a huge FAIL!
  • My question is WHY can't they make anything work right before they release another thing that won't work right either? I just feel so bad for all the people who don't know any better and purchase from them anyway. . .
  • I will probably never use the Cricut Craftroom program because IF YOU DESIGN WITH IT, PC OWNS YOUR DESIGNS!!! BEWARE!
What do you think of this new thing?

SP Color Combo #109

Hey everyone!! Sorry I am coming to you late today! I have been shipping out things and getting some things in order around here -boring stuff.

So today, I made a card for the SP Color Combo. It has been soooooo long since I played along, I was aching to get back with it. The color combo is below, and please click here to see all of the lovely inspiration projects from tthe SP Design Divas!

This is what I came up with:

Card Details
  • The image was die cut from the Cricut Nursery Rhymes cartridge at 4inches tall. I used the blackout shadow layer on the shape as well. The striped patterned paper is from the Echo Park Candy Shoppe 6X6 paper pad and the layer was done with Whisper White from Stampin' UP.
  • I made the die cut pop off the page using Stampin' Dimensional foam dots.
  • TIP: See those tiny stars? I attached them with one of my favorite liquid glues Elmer's Craft Bond -For Paper and Fabric! This stuff is so great!! The trick with small cuts is a great glue.
  • The background was made using a piece of Stampin' UP River Rock cardstock. I used the SP and Company Flourishee stamp set to make the background pattern, using River Rock ink to get the tone on tone look.
  • The sentiment is one of my favorites from the new stamp set Bold Sentiments I. Did you know I only have SIX of these beautiful stamp sets left? Make sure to pick one up before I run out!
  • The sentiment was stamped using black ink.
  • The card base is a piece of Bashful Blue cardstock.
Now get creative and link your color combo project below for a chance to be my guest designer!
