SP Color Combo #144

Hi everyone! It's time for another SP Color Combo Challenge. This is #144.

I picked a pretty bright/summery color combo that is also a little bit frilly. I hope you like it!

  Our SP Color Combo rules are simple:
*At least one SP product must be used on your project. Don't own any of our fabulous stamps or color supplies yet? Well, then head to the store and check us out! Our stamps start at $1.99! We also offer a couple of freebie digital stamps as well so everyone can play along.

I found a card on Pinterest that was my inspiration for this card. I pinned this to my Scrappy Awesomeness board on Pinterest.

I used patterned paper from the This and That Graceful paper pad from Echo Park. This was included in a past SP Monthly Kit. June kits are already shipping, but kit club signups are ongoing!

On the flowery layer, I inked around the edges with Ocean Waves Premium Chalk Ink and the Tim Holtz Ink Applicator.

I stamped the flower with the same ink using the Medium Polka Dot Background.

I added a big double bow to the side of the flower and then added a piece of SP Flair from the Flamingo Pink Heart Patterns pack.  In next week's tutorial, I am going to show you this neat double bow technique. I will probably use this technique again on some future cards. I really like how it turned out.

The sentiment is also stamped in Ocean Waves ink. It is a sentiment from the Swirly Doos stamp set. It is actually a one line sentiment so I cut the sentiment in half to make it two lines.

And here's The Sunday Scoop - a little late!

LAST WEEK
I am WAY WAY BEHIND on pretty much everything besides kit club & mailing orders so please be patient with me if you have sent emails or anything. I am playing major catch up this week!!

This past week was totally crazy! I spent Monday, Tuesday, & Wednesday packing up kit club and also packing up most of our belongings. I had to separate things into things we are taking to temp housing, and things that the movers will bring later.

I also had to pack most of my scrap room to bring with me! My entire scrap room and inventory has been reduced to this for the time being:

I have yet to figure out how to go about sorting/organizing that big blue tub of my personal crafty goodies. I will have to do that sometime this week. I am having major crafty withdrawals!

WORKING MAN
The great news is. . . hubby started work today! I am just so thrilled to have a working man ;)  I am just kidding. He actually worked all the way through grad school. This is just his first "adult" job and I am so excited!!

HOUSE HUNTING
The bad news is. . .the housing situation is pretty much horrible! First off, we are in temp housing that is about the size of a tin can! It would be tiny even for a studio apartment. 

Then the house hunting has been rough also! The houses are being bought up so quickly, sometimes by the time we look at them they are already off the market. Or we have them on our list to look at, and they sell before we ever look at them.

I *thought* we were in a recession or something, but I don't think Champaign, IL got that memo! I am happy to see houses being purchased, but at the same time, I want to purchase one too! LOL

We've but two offers in and BOTH of them were multiple offer situations. We lost the first house, and actually we pulled our offer from the second house because of cold feet.

So at this point, we are both just really frustrated because there are just not many houses available to begin with and the ones we like keep getting purchased so quickly. We have one other one we are looking at and then we've pretty much seen everything that even *might* appeal to us.

If this last house doesn't look promising, we are considering just building a house! That process takes many months and we really wanted to be in a house much quicker.

LOOKING AHEAD
So this week, I am determined to get a couple of projects up for you guys at least! I have to get situated and then I can start getting crafty again. I have some half finished blog posts/projects that I plan to get scheduled for later in the week.

We are also BLOG HOPPING on the 20th with MarkerPop.com and the design teams are showing off the gorgeous new Tina Wenke stamps! I've seen a few of their projects already and you guys are not going to want to miss this inspiration. Plus, you know we have fab prizes to give away ;)

NO BLOG CANDY
I'm not going to have a new blog candy giveaway this week because we've got a lot of giveaways coming on the 20th!!
